ATC Manual Update v21.3.0.1

Version 21.3.0.1 of the ATC Manual is now live here. The following changes are effective 14 July 2021.

Summary of changes:

  • Some notes or pro tips have been reformatted
  • 1.2.1 — FF abbreviation for Flash Flight added
  • 1A.1.2 / 1A.3.1 — Guidance added on using role assignments, and specifically only using the @Tower Relief and @Radar Relief reaction roles once (including the airport and closing time)
  • 1A.1.8 — VC channel limit changed from 8 to 10 people
  • 1A.5.2 — Returning IFATC members can commence training for the rank of Officer provided they have successfully passed the “Check Ride” phase
  • 1B.2.1 — Added not following a published TFR/NOTAM as grounds for Controllers to issue a Violation
  • 1B.3.2 — If during a violation appeal, the Controller and Appeals Team are added, the Controller is to observe only and allow the Appeals Team to deal with the appeal
  • 3.2.2 — Departure sequencing adjusted to reflect that if an aircraft is lined up, the next aircraft ready for departure is considered number 2, not number 1
  • 6.8.9 — Flight plan approach prefix added for LDA and GLS approaches
  • 7.3.2 / 7C.2.1 / 7C.4.5 — Added new notes to highlight that returning IFATC members are not required to complete The Initial Theory Test during their application to rejoin (if it is within 1 year of leaving)
  • 7.4.2 — Expanded rules to be followed when in the Specialist Check Ride phase
  • 7B.3.3 — The retest site is only to be used for demotion from Officer to Specialist, returning members can be tested at any of the pre-approved radar test sites
  • 7D.2.1 — Removal of old reference
  • 7D.4.3 — Added reference to the Appeals Team
