Clouds as far as the eye can see

January, 2, 2021 by Kyle Boas

Up until a few days ago, we only had still images of the clouds that have been in development, but now we are getting a new look at the clouds that are currently in development which were teased in Infinite Flight’s 2020 Recap video.

Here you see a mesmerizing zoom out wide shot to show off the full coverage of the cloud tops. As explained by Philippe Rollin, Infinite Flight Developer and Co-Founder, in a previous comment from October 2018, they did not want to cut any corners. “Many cloud solutions look decent when seen from below and a fairly static position but in our case we have to consider that the viewer might be below, above and inside the clouds; we also have to consider dynamic time of day with proper cloud lighting in all cases”.

Fast forward to the present day, I think Philippe and the team accomplished what he outlined in that past comment.

The clouds that you see our cirrus clouds, which are thin and wispy clouds typically found at heights greater than 20,000ft (6,000 meters). They are currently a work in progress and there is not set a release date for them to be implemented.
