Does Infinite Flight support P-Factor

February, 29, 2020 by

P-Factor is an aerodynamic effect that causes propeller planes to yaw when they are flown at high power and low speed such as during takeoff.

This is one of the reasons why most prop planes, like say the Cessna 172, need a certain amount of right rudder to keep them straight during takeoff and climb-out, in the real world.

Infinite Flight does not currently support P-Factor so no rudder correction is required to compensate. Here is a quote from Jason Rosewell, an Infinite Fight staff member.

“Infinite Flight doesn’t support Pfactor yet – it’s a tough one. We do have prop wash on the xCub down stream of the propeller, however. If you’re looking for more right rudder!!! (something my CFI yells at me about), you won’t find it yet.”
