How Common is the 777?

Have you ever wondered just how common the 777 is? With over 1600 aircraft delivered in its 25 year production run, the 777 is one of the best selling airliners in the world. It’s also the best selling wide-body. Those 1600 examples fly an average of 12 hours a day and have an average flight length of six hours. In fact, there are over 2000 flights by the 777 every day. If you were to estimate the amount of time all the 777s have ever flown, it would be well over 35 million hours! At their cruise speed, that’s enough time to cover the distance from the earth to the sun more than a dozen times. With so much experience, it’s no question that airlines love the 777.
