Lift equation

Lift of an aerodynamic body can be expressed by a simple equation, also called the Lift Equation.

Here, L is the lift produced, cL is the coefficient of lift, A is the area of the cross-section of the aerodynamic body , r is the fluid density and v is the airflow velocity.

For a rough calculation we can take the cl, or coefficient of lift from the airfoil plot and thus we can calculate the lift produced by an aerodynamic body with a specified airfoil and angle of attack.
