Thank your trainer when you pass

April, 13, 2020 by

It seems like a simple thing, but a thank you goes a long way.

To become part of the Expert server ATC team, IFATC, you must first past a theory and practical test. To ensure you are 100 percent prepared you may want to train with an official trainer.

That’s where the training team comes in, you can learn more about training here.

The trainers will pair up with a controller trainee and train them at the local position (tower and ground) or radar (approach), to ensure they are able to pass the practical test. If you are entering the team, you will only be allowed to train at the local position because when you become part of the team, you will not be able to control a radar frequency.

It can take anywhere from a few days to months to train, it varies depending on the trainees knowledge going in and their ability to absorb new things thrown at them quickly.

I am a trainer, we put in a lot of time, the pilots put in a lot of time, so when you finally pass your practical, thank everyone that helped.
